The South Shore Watershed Association (SSWA) is pleased to announce a guest speaker at our upcoming 2024 Annual General Meeting.

The event will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, 7 pm, at Crapaud Community Hall.

Robert W. Harding will be presenting “Citizen Science on the South Shore”. Robert is an active member of Nature PEI and is the Public Outreach Education Officer for Parks Canada on PEI. Robert has participated in many plant and animal citizen science projects throughout his life. It all started with dragonflies and damselflies over 30 years ago.

The evening will also feature the announcement of the SSWA 2024 Photo Contest winners, including the “People’s Choice” Grand Prize Winner, voted on by those present at the AGM. A short business meeting will open the evening’s program.

This is a public meeting. Bring along family and friends!

Submit photos that capture the beauty of nature in all its manifestations. Cash prizes. There are no entry fees. Results will be revealed at AGM in April.
The entry deadline is March 20, 2024.

Thanks to all who made last year such a success, we are doing it again! Celebrate clean, healthy water on the South Shore of PEI with an open-water swim.

📆 Saturday, August 19th, 2023 at 11 am, (rain day August 20th)

The registration fee is $20 for an individual and $40 for a family up to 6 people. We ask that each person or team raise a minimum of $50.

Local Musician, Megan Ellands will be performing on the wharf in Victoria-by-the-Sea from 11 to 1 pm.
The event benefits The South Shore Watershed Association, a registered charity that works to protect over 100 km of coastal water and streams.

This year, we will be adding a Plastic and Garbage awareness campaign – this will allow us to promote four beach clean-up events leading to the Swim. The Beach Clean-up events will be held on Friday, June 28, August 4, August 11, and August 18. We will be sharing information soon about the locations!
